Hancock Fabrics closing all 255 stores nationwide

Hancock Fabrics Bankruptcy logoA man spent Saturday afternoon on 51st Street near Sheridan Road advertising the complete liquidation of Hancock Fabrics, a chain craft store whose parent company announced last week it is headed into the black hole of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

No closing date is set for the stores, which will shut down individually as they sell off their remaining merchandise.
Everything is at least 20 percent off, according to the company’s website. The store at the Farm has been there for decades. When it closes, 13 jobs will go with it, and the crafting consumer will lose an option for buying fabrics, sewing accessories and more.
